1) Disable any virus detection software you may be using, unless it's Disinfectant. The patch won't work properly otherwise.
2) Make a back-up copy of the original Appearance Extension and put it someplace safe. Once you patch it, it's patched, and you'll have to replace it with the original OS8 extension to get the old, boring icons back (if you ever want to, that is.)
To apply the patch...
1) Click the "Patch" button below.
2) You will prompted to locate the original Appearance Extension--navigate to the Appearance Extension (inside the Extensions folder, within the System folder), select it, and click the "Patch" button (or just double-click its name.)
3) Once the patch has been applied, Restart your computer and enjoy the new icons!
